Born from Lived Experience
Dads Behaving Madly was founded in 2024 by Graham, a dad of five including twin boys with additional needs. After years of feeling isolated – sitting alone in hospital waiting rooms, explaining his children's needs to people who didn't understand, and searching for support that didn't exist – Graham decided to create what he wished he'd had. What started as three dads meeting for breakfast on the Yorkshire Coast has grown into a thriving community of over 80 dads and male carers, supporting more than 500 beneficiaries including partners and children. We're now a registered charity and our mission remains simple: no dad should have to face this journey alone.
Our Mission
To combat social isolation and improve mental health for fathers and male carers of children with disabilities through peer support, meaningful connection, and wellness activities.
Our Values
No Judgement
We create spaces where dads can be honest about their struggles without fear of being judged.
Lived Experience
Everything we do comes from understanding what it's actually like to walk this path.
Connection Over Cure
We're not here to fix anyone. We're here to connect, share, and support each other through the journey.
Open to All Dads
While we specialise in supporting dads of children with disabilities, all dads are welcome in our community.

Who We Support
Dads Behaving Madly welcomes dads, grandads, step-dads, foster dads, and male carers who have a child with additional needs or a disability. We also warmly welcome any dad looking for connection and support.
Our members include dads of children with autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, chronic health conditions, and complex needs. Many of our members travel from across the Yorkshire Coast region – from Scarborough to Hull, Beverley to Whitby – to be part of our community.
Whether you're newly navigating a diagnosis or years into the journey, you'll find understanding here.
